Game Day Crew Spotlight
On a tournament Saturday at Sunshine Events Group, games start on every field at once. Every goal, penalty and final score has to be right, in real time, for the coaches, the parents and the brackets that decide who plays Sunday. For years, the person making sure that happens has been Haylee Lamon.
Haylee, a student at the University of Florida, has been at our scorer's tables since long before college, and today she leads our scorekeeping crew. Before there was a scorekeeping crew, there was Haylee at the table. When our tournaments grew, she didn't just keep up. She built the team that keeps us running.

"The best tournament days are the ones where nobody notices us, because that means every score is right and every game starts on time. We're there before the first game and after the last one, and we know each score we enter is a family checking their phone to see how their player's team did. Building this crew with my friends, and watching new scorekeepers grow into it, is my favorite part of working these events."
Haylee Lamon
The crew Haylee built
Haylee brought in two friends she trusted: Haley Nolan, now at Florida Atlantic University, and Grace Drummond, now at Florida State. Then the three of them kept going. They recruited college classmates and local high school students, trained them, and turned scorekeeping into a crew our events can count on.

Together, they've kept score for hundreds of games across our tournaments, including Monster Mash Lax Clash, Jingle Brawl, the Sunshine Fall Classic and the Sunshine State Summer Kick Off.
Their work doesn't start at the first whistle or end at the last one. Haylee, Haley and Grace have all pitched in to set up our tournament sites before the first game and break them down after the final. When something needs doing on game day, they're usually already doing it.
Big-event experience
Haylee and Grace also work for the Florida Panthers at the Ice Den, the team's rink in Coral Springs. They've also worked merchandise sales at concerts the Panthers host at their arena in Sunrise. Busy rink days and big concert crowds are good training for a tournament weekend, and it shows at our tables: calm under pressure, organized from the first whistle, and focused on getting every detail right while the day moves fast.
Why scorekeepers matter
Scorekeepers are easy to miss when everything goes right, and that's the point. They track goals, penalties and the clock, confirm final scores with officials, and get results into the system so standings and brackets update for every team and family following along. When the scores are right and on time, the whole tournament runs on schedule.
To Haylee, Haley, Grace and every member of their crew: thank you. You make our tournaments better for every player who steps on the field.
